Project Overview
Design and deployment of fiber optic infrastructure to connect two office buildings of the organization, 500 meters apart. The goal was to establish a high-speed, stable link between the two sites for data and video transmission.
Challenges
The distance between the two buildings exceeded the copper Ethernet limit (100 meters). High bandwidth was also required to carry CCTV video streams and server data.
Solution
- Evaluation and selection of the appropriate fiber type (SMF for long distances)
- Ground-level cable routing design in accordance with standards
- Fiber optic cabling with mechanical protection
- Fiber link termination and testing with OTDR equipment
- Installation and configuration of media converters
Results
A 10Gbps fiber optic link was deployed. A stable connection with latency under 1 millisecond was verified and all performance tests were passed successfully.
